Gas info not accurate

How much reserve fuel does a car have and does all have the same? when i fill her up it would usually say it has 310-320kms til empty but when almost empty i dont event come near to 19 gallons. i have a 1960 old lc

i don't think all cars have the same reserve capacity but there's a range or so, around 10 to 15% of the total tank capacity. maybe its an indicator problem ? or a leak, have you checked for leaks ?
