Ceramic coating and PPF are overrated?

I recently watched videos on YT about ceramic coating cars and PPF, anyone here ever applied one of these? Are they a rip off or is it worth it? I never applied any paint protection like this to my car, but I never paid 80K for a vehicle either haha. Any opinions are welcome guys!

Honestly ceramic coating and PPF sound nice but people act like they're some magic shield when in reality they won't stop serious chips or deep scratches plus they need proper maintenance or they'll wear down faster than you'd expect unless you're driving a super expensive car or you're obsessed with keeping your paint spotless I don't really see the point seems like a lot of hype for something that still requires effort to keep looking good
