Fitting a Savage Off-Road rack in the back of my 2022 LC

Heads up y'all, I'm looking to grab a Savage Off-Road FE rack and I'm trying to see if I can sneak it into the back of my 2022 Land Cruiser without turning into the guy who shows up to U-Haul with a tape measure. I've got the rear cargo area open and clear but even then, I don't want to force something that's gonna fight me every inch.

Has anyone run this experiment before? Think it's a matter of inches or am I better off tying it down on a trailer and calling it a day?

Why risk jamming it in and scuffing up your ride when a quick tie-down on a trailer could save the hassle?

If your rear seats are down, it might just fit but it's tight. Safer bet is to trailer it unless you wanna wrestle it in, that rack's longer than it looks

Alright, you've both talked me into it, the trailer it is. I appreciate the reality check, the last thing I want to do is chew up the inside of my truck just to save a few minutes. Better safe than sorry.

That Savage Off-Road FE rack is great, but getting it inside a 2022 Land Cruiser is usually a tight squeeze. Even with the rear clear, it'll probably fight you. If you want to avoid the hassle, just tie it down on a trailer and save yourself the headache.

yep, getting a large, bulky item like a roof rack into the back of a vehicle is always a gamble. one tip from me is to check the diagonal.
Even if the length or width of the rack seems like it would fit, the diagonal is often the limiting factor. Measure the longest point of the rack and then measure from the bottom corner of your rear door to the opposite top corner. You'll likely find it's not a match

Trailer crew wins by unanimous decision. I ended up hauling it last weekend and didn't regret it for a second. No wrestling match, no scuffed panels, just a clean load and unload. @HappyHunter95, I hadn't thought about the diagonal until you mentioned it, and now I'm wondering how many guys have tried to eyeball the fit and ended up wedging it in like a couch through a stairwell.

Shoutout to @peepingtom for echoing @Megan1 almost word for word. Either you two are on the same wavelength or Savage racks have a reputation for being just stubborn enough to make people repeat themselves.
